The school planned to transfer him to another district.
When: February 4th, 2021
Where: Thepha district, Songkhla province
Perpetrators: Mr. Sayan Chaleephol
Victims: Underage student
What: On the morning of February 4th, 2021, the principal of a Songkhla school caused panic among staff and students when he brandished a gun. Nobody was hurt in the ordeal.
More information about the situation has been reported. The school had initiated a transfer of the principal to a school outside of the district and set up a committee to investigate the facts of the matter, which had been known earlier in the day.
The mother of the victim, Ms. B. (alias), revealed that after talking to her daughter, the two carried on a “deep relationship” together, which began at the beginning of the year. The daughter, an underage student at the school, had grown fond of the principal because he gave money to her for daily use. The daughter visited the principal often at his residence on school grounds.
The principal denied these claims. The mother wanted the principal to resign and leave the area and she did not want a cash settlement of any kind. The daughter is also reportedly out of school now because she is not in a “normal state of mind.”
Normally the daughter stays with her grandparents in Thepha district while the mother works in another district.

My take: This is an ongoing story, will update when more information comes in. It’s not exactly clear what will happen to the principal at this point — whether there will be criminal charges for the rape or just the incident at the school or both.
