The Golden Triangle is now a known source of ketamine.
When: December 16th, 2020
Perpetrators: Drug network, unknown
Victims: Special-K heads
What: There’s more news in about the bust in Nonthaburi which netted an updated amount of 300 kilos of ketamine and a subsequent 228 kilos of heroin at another house. The operation was coordinated with Taiwan’s drug control agency.
The investigation has found that the drugs did come from the Golden Triangle. The destination was Taiwan.
The question is – are these busts connected to the previously searched warehouse in Chachoengsao? The investigation is ongoing.
Mr. Wichai Chaiyamongkol, NCC Secretary General, has said the following:
- They are comparing transport routes between all the busts;
- They are comparing the network of individuals associated with all the busts;
- 3 groups in cases related to these ketamine and heroin busts are known outside of the country.
The report notes that in the past, ketamine was imprted from India into Thailand, then forwarded to a third country. But now it’s found that the Golden Triangle is producing ketamine. This is new information that wasn’t widely known before.

My take: Again, we are keeping track of this developing story very closely. Investigators are making the connection between all the busts from the warehouse in Chachoengsao and the recent ketamine hauls. There is now a known ketamine smuggling operation between the Golden Triangle, Thailand, and third countries as well. This is something that we covered in our article about Myanmar’s biggest drug bust https://truecrimethailand.substack.com/p/myanmars-apocalyptic-drug-bust
