Where: Na Luang Sen subdistrict, Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province
Perpetrators: Mr. Chit Narong, 38
Victim: 1 year old girl, 8 year old boy
What: Police arrested Mr. Chit Narong, 38, 13 years after he killed a 1 year old girl, 8 year old boy, and injured their father and mother in an attack dated October 3rd, 2008 in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
He threw the grenades into the home in Na Luang Sen subdistrict, Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, which resulted in the death of the two children and the injury of their father, Mr. Silpa Chai, and their mother.
According to Mr. Silpa, he was sitting at home watching TV that day, his wife and children had gone to bed. An unknown person threw grenades into home and the kids died instantly. The investigation determined that Mr. Chit Narong was the culprit. His motive was due to conflict about a rubber business. A court issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Narong at that time.
Mr. Narong was able to evade arrest for 13 years. Investigators from Police Region 8 discovered he was hiding in the Kamphaeng Phet area and took him into custody. Mr. Narong denies the allegations at this time.

My take: We always take interest in cases, especially murders like this, that lead to arrests a decade plus after the incident. This particular crime was harrowing – a grenade thrown into the bedroom of a home, killing two young children.
I don’t know how the mother and father have carried on since then. But I do sincerely hope they got the right guy here and the full weight of the law is brought down on him.
