The husband had done time in Udon Thani for attempted murder before.
When: January 30th, 2021
Where: Nong Bua Lamphu province
Perpetrators: Mr. Niwat Chitko, 50
Victims: Ms. A (alias), 59
What: On January 30th, 2021, police in the Mueang district of Nong Bua Lam Phu found the body of Ms. A, 59, with severe injuries, naked, with a jar of baby powder in her genitals with signs of burns. She was rushed to the Nong Bua Lam Phu Hospital.
The investigation found that Mr. Niwat Chitko, 50, the husband of Ms. A, was the one who attacked her. He confessed that he attacked her because he was jealous. The couple had previously been drinking at the home of Mr. B (alias), a friend across the street. The couple came back home to sleep.
At that time, Mr. Niwat heard his wife talking to Mr. B, saying that her husband could not get “an erect penis.” Mr. Niwat said the tone of the voice was unusually intimate with Mr. B, the neighbor.
In a state of drunkenness, Mr. Niwat went and punched Mr. B. At this point, Ms. A fled to the second floor of the home. Mr. Niwat chased his wife and hit her. He dragged her body down the stairs, stripped her naked, and stuffed the baby powder jar in her genitals.
Neighbors came to try to deescalate the situation. Unfortunately, Ms. A did not survive her injuries. SHe died at the hospital.
According to the report, Mr. Niwat was previously sentenced for attempted murder and sentenced to prison in Udon Thani. He was released in 2016 and came to live with Ms. A.
The son of Ms. A, from a previous marriage, works abroad and will be informed of the passing of his mother.

My take: A particularly disgusting way to kill somebody you supposedly love.
Why he chose a jar of baby powder? Your guess would be as good as mine.
My one question, though, would be this: How long did Mr. Niwat serve for attempted murder from his crime in Udon Thani? One wonders if he should’ve been released at all.
