The inheritance amount is not disclosed in the article.
When: January 22nd, 2021
Where: Wiang Kao district, Khon Kaen province
Perpetrators: Mr. Weeraphon Pholcharoen
Victim: Mr. Midi
What: On January 14th, 2021, a relative of Mr. Midi filed a complaint that he had disappeared mysteriously. Police started an investigation but could not find any trace of him. Investigators questioned the brother, Mr. Weeraphon Pholcharoen, who lived at the same house as Mr. Midi.
Mr. Weeraphon claimed that he did not know anything about the disappearance of his brother. Other relatives told investigators that the two brothers argued about an inheritance often. Officers found several suspicious things in the home, including the condition of the home, missing parts of the roof, and new plaster in the toilet area.
Officers then took a closer look at Mr. Weeraphon and his activity. Finally, Mr. Weeraphon did confess that he killed his brother and took the corpse to the toilet to dispose of it.
Officers broke down the toilet to bring up the body of the deceased. It was found that the occipital area of the deceased’s skull had been hit with a blunt object, like an iron rod. They arrested Mr. Weeraphon for concealing a body and brought him to the police station for further investigation.

My take: A tale as old as time, going back to even Biblical times — whether you believe the legends or not.
The motivation here being an inheritance of an undisclosed amount.
It’s a particularly gruesome and unflattering way to dispose of your own blood brother’s body after such a crime.
I will, as always, update if more reports come in or other information is found, particularly the amount of the inheritance. I want to know how much this murder was worth to the brother Weeraphon.
