The gunman knew the victim from their time at university.
When: December 4th, 2020
Where: Wat Tha Phra subdistrict, Bangkok Yai district, Bangkok
Perpetrators: Unknown gunman
Victims: Mr. Athit, 27
What: On the night of December 4th, 2020, the Tha Phra police station in Bangkok received a report of a man who was shot and killed at a noodle shop. The deceased, Mr. Athit, 27, was found dead lying on his back with a lot of blood at the scene. His chest was riddled with 4 gunshot wounds. One bullet struck the shop’s wall.
Mr. Athit was a young engineer at a home building company. The murder took place while Mr. Athit was sitting in the shop with his family. This included his wife holding the couple’s one-month old baby.
It’s reported that the gunman was a small man, about 160cm tall. He walked up to the shop, pulled out a gun, and without saying a word fired the shots at Mr. Athit. The gunman escaped to the Tha Phra intersection, where police are now reviewing CCTV evidence at the scene. The motive is likely from personal conflict, as the deceased knew the gunman from Rajamnagala University of Technology in Pathumwan district.

My take: To shoot down a guy in front of his wife and one-month old baby is cold-blooded. There must have been some serious beef between the two for the gunman to have escalated it to that level. Sadly, the mother will deal with the images of her husband getting shot dead in front of her for the rest of her life. And the baby will never know its dad.
