What: Khon Kaen police received a report from Ms. Pawanrat Sansang, 29, owner of a shop in Ban Pet subdistrict of Khon Kaen. The theft happened on December 25th, 2020.

A Grab food drive is the suspect that was caught on CCTV camera. He wore a black helmet with two white lines on the black, black shoes, and drove a red and black Honda Wave motorbike with no license plates.

My take: The theft is a crime of opportunity that 20 years ago would have been difficult to solve. CCTV is so ubiquitous in Thailand that pulling off a theft like this almost always leads to the arrest of the suspect. The Grab bag grabber took a couple steps to avoid identification: license plates weren’t on the bike, and he wore a helmet.

But there’s probably enough caught on tape to ID him, or they can follow up with the Grab company to identify the driver who had delivered to that area.
