Fruit Vendor Shot Dead in Bangkok; Motive Unknown

When: December 2nd, 2020

Where: Sai Mai district, Bangkok

Perpetrators: Shooter named Art, age unknown

Victims: Fruit dealer named Mr. Damrong Thawekhet, age unknown

What: Police arrested Art today, December 4th, 2020, after an investigation of a gun homicide of a fruit vendor in Bangkok on the night of December 2nd, 2020. CCTV footage showed the alleged shooter killing the fruit vendor in the parking lot of a popular restaurant called Por Kung Pao Pinklao. The shooter escaped on a motorbike to the Rama VII Bridge and threw the firearm into the Chao Praya River. Police found a handful of .38 caliber rounds, expected to be fired from the murder weapon. The police searched the river for the discarded gun, but the current will make it difficult to recover.

The shooter, Art, has confessed, but police have not released a motive.
