His excuse? The gas pedal got stuck.

Perpetrators: Mr. Phairot Thongkon, 54
Victims: Property damage
What: On the night of December 25th, 2020, the former leader of Ban Kruat district, Mr. Phairot Thongkon, 54, crashed into homes, shops, and a tour bus. Clips of the crash were shared on social media.
The former thesaban leader met with police at the Ban Kruat police station and claimed that his gas pedal was stuck.
Ms. Sirinaphayothikul, 32, owner of the Rung Rueang Minimart filmed the clip. She said she heard a loud noise and woke up to see what happened. She saw the car, driven by Mr. Thongkon, crashing back and forth into the shop. She filmed the incident as evidence, and she expected the vehicle to hit her house.
Mr. Thongkon is charged with two counts of drunk driving, reckless driving, and property damage.
