Drug Smuggler, High on Yaba, Manages to Fall Asleep and Crash Truck in Front of Police Station in Sisaket

He’d taken 1 yaba tab before the crash to stay awake.

In the wee hours of the morning of February 24th, 2021, police at the Rasi Salai police station in Sisaket province heard a loud boom outside of the station. They went to investigate and found that a pick up truck had crashed in the middle of the road, right in front of the police station.

The driver of the Chevy pick up, Mr. Nitipong Kaenwong, 25 years old, acted suspicious when officers searched the truck. They found 20,000 yaba pills after a brief search and detained Mr. Nitipong.

According to the report, Mr. Nitipong admitted that he had taken 1 yaba tab as he felt very sleepy on the drug run. He was transporting the yaba from Maha Sarakham to central Thailand.

He was arrested for possession with intent to sale and consumption.

My take: This guy gets my vote for the bad luck crime of the year. Falling right into the lap of the cops with the stash you’re running — and the yaba? Why didn’t the little red pill keep him awake?

Maybe it wasn’t as good as he thought.
