600 Kilos of Marijuana Seized on Mekong River in Bueng Kan

The smugglers disappeared into the cover of darkness.

On March 1st, 2021, police in Bueng Kan province announced the seizure of 600 kilograms of marijuana that floated across the Mekong River from Laos.

A long-tail boat with a rear-mounted engine was found deserted at 4AM. Four men were then found transporting suspicious packages from the ship to pickup truck waiting nearby. Officers observed the activity and moved in to make the arrests. According to the report, the suspects escaped into the cover of darkness.

The marijuana was concealed in black plastic bags. There were a total of 15 black plastic bags found, which contained 600 kilograms of cannabis according to the report. The cannabis was packed in 1 kilogram packages.

The owner of the truck was identified as Mr. Tinakorn Harn. Officers found his ID card and wallet, along with the driver’s licenses of Mr. Wanchai Jai Kasen and Mr. Chatchai Kasemsuwan. Officers are seeking them for arrest.

My take: Quality over quantity with cannabis, I somehow have my doubts that this stuff was any good.
