The woman was shot dead in front of her daughter and mother-in-law.
On February 15th, 2021, a 23 year old woman, Ms. Janjira or Mikey, was shot dead by her husband, Mr. Surichai Ankoon Charoenporn, 33 years old, in Buriram province. The deceased was shot 4 times in the chest in front of her 4 year old daughter and mother in law.
The victim’s family traveled to pick up the body in Buriram so that she could be brought back to Rayong for funeral ceremonies. The neighbors of the victim’s family came together when they heard the news to support the family and condemn the brutal murder by the husband.
A close friend of the victim, Ms Sudarat, 23, reported that on the morning of the murder, Ms. Janjira looked paranoid. The friend said Ms. Janjira never discussed family problems, was always cheerful and happy. But on this morning, when a car that looked like the husband’s vehicle passed by the road, Ms. Janjira became fearful and paranoid.
The friend said that Ms. Janjira told her that if anything happened, it would only be the husband. The friend tried to calm Ms. Janjira down by telling her “don’t think too much.”
The friend was shocked when she heard the news of the murder.
On social media, Ms. Janjira had posted a foreboding message about “not having a flower for Valentine’s, but having trouble like getting hit”, which was abnormal for her as she normally didn’t post much, and when she did, it was a joke or something light-hearted.
The perpetrator’s sister, Ms Wanna, and sister-in-law of the victim, was distraught from the murder. She told reporters that she knew there were frequent arguments between the two, but never thought it’d escalate to murder.

My take: Another domestic violence tragedy that didn’t need to happen. The cause of the husband’s decision to brutally murder his 23 year old wife will probably never be known.
Was it jealousy? Deeper problems between the two?
