22,000 red ones plucked out of Nong Bua Lam Phu

22,000 yaba pills retrieved from 3 smugglers in Nong Bua Lam Phu.
A blown out truck and 3 smugglers down in Nong Bua Lam Phu.

More yaba flooding in from the PDR Lao.

When: September 21st, 2020

Where: Nong Bua Lam Phu

Perpetrator: Mr. Nikorn Khunkaew, Mr. Weerapot Kulsasa, and Mr. Sarunyoo Khantawichai

Victims: Addicts throughout Isaan

What: Authorities in Nong Bua Lam Phu province were tipped off that a criminal drug trafficking networking was operating in town. The suspects were Thai nationals living in Laos, who hired Thai nationals to deliver ice and yaba throughout Nong Bua Lam Phu.

There were two separate busts. The first started with an officer searching Mr. Khunkaew’s pickup truck. The smuggler tried to run over the officer. Backup unloaded several rounds into the truck’s tires, and it came to a stop. At this point, Mr. Khunkaew knew he was cooked so he hopped out and ran into the forest. 15 minutes later the narcs caught up with our guy and found 16,000 yaba pills.

The second bust went down without a hitch. The cops ambushed a live drug delivery in Non Than district. The cops picked up Mr. Kulsasa and Mr. Khantawichai with 6,000 yaba pills.

My take: This is a smaller bust than the major ones you see where a million yaba pills were seized on the border regions. But a bust is a bust. I bet dollars to donuts that these three guys flip on the big dogs in the network unless they’re paid off handsomely. Keep an eye on this space for more busts in Nong Bua Lamphu.
