He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
When: February 8th, 2021
Where: Karon beach, Phuket
What: In the middle of the night on February 7th, 2021, police from the Karon police station in Phuket responded to an attempted suicide with knife near Karon beach’s Mövenpick Hotel. They found a 20 year old Russian man, Mr. Daniil Bedev, 20, with severe knife wounds in his trachea and neck. He was rushed to a local hospital.
Mr. Bedev stayed together with Ms. Yulia Popova, 23, also a Russian national at the NBC Naiharn Condo in the Rawai subdistrict of Phuket. They checked in that condo on January 8th, 2021 and were scheduled to leave March 8th.
From the investigation the report says that Mr. Bedev and Ms. Yulia fell in love but Ms. Yulia wanted to break up. Mr. Bedev resisted and threatened Ms. Yulia that if they broke up, he would kill them both.
Ms. Yulia left for Pattaya on February 3rd. Although the injuries were critical, it’s expected that Mr. Bedev will survive per this report.

My take: Oddly, the report in Thai even lists Mr. Bedev’s passport number.
