2 Turks Arrested in Bangkok After Break from Mae Sot Prison

This wasn’t the first time this pair busted free.

Mugs only a mother could love.

When: December 9th, 2020

Where: Wang Thonglang, Bangkok

Perpetrators: Murad Yeslikaya, 41; Razi Ashim, 29

Victims: Rusted ol’ jail cell bars

What: The two Turkish men who broke out of the Mae Sot prison in Tak province back in October 2020 have been arrested again. The two were in jail for entering the country illegally.

The two men cut through the cell’s bars with soap, which rusted the bars, and thus were able to escape. Authorities have been tracking the pair down since October and finally caught up with them in Bangkok motel.

Major General Suchart stated that meetings are being held concerning the flaws in the jail that allowed for this to happen. It wasn’t the first time the Turks had escaped, as both had done so before. The two were put on a plane headed back to Mae Sot.

My take: It’s good to know that with a little ingenuity anything is possible in the Land of Smiles! But in all seriousness, they escaped twice? Come on, guys. Keep a better eye on them.
