My take: A tragedy for everybody involved. I’m curious to know the mental condition of the boy. It seems like this may have been a factor. How abusive the father was to the boy is another question that is raised, as well. It sounds like the family life of the boy was not very pleasant, having been raised by the grandmother since a young age.
