100 Million Baht in Counterfeit Fashion Items Seized in Bangkok Warehouse Raid

The raid was conducted by the DSI.

Over 20,000 counterfeit fashion items including handbags, wallets, glasses, watches, scarves ripping off brands like Fendi, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Coach, and more were found in a warehouse in Bangkok.

The counterfeit items would retail in total for 100 million baht.

The operation monitored a large wholesaler that smuggled the products in through land border checkpoints and sold to local retailers in Thailand and online through Facebook.

The products were sold as fakes of AAA quality.

The Department of Special Investigation was involved in the bust. Thailand and the United States have trade agreements that put IP protection on high priority, as Thailand is on a watch list of countries where IP fraud is monitored.

My take: I guess the Chatuchak market is going to be empty for the next week or so — not that they had any customers these days, anyway.

Special Note about Facebook

My personal profile on Facebook was completely nuked — BOOM, just deleted with no warning. This isn’t just a Facebook jail sentence. I was completely banned from the platform.

12+ years of connections, networking, content, the whole works is just poof gone.

So look, if you came to this page from Facebook, and you’d like to continue to read True Crime Thailand content in the event that my group and page are taken off the platform (it’s inevitable), then I only ask that you sign up to my newsletter.

I do not spam. I only use it to send out a weekly digest of the best crime news in Thailand, along with original reports that I write — about once a week, too.
