There are several points he raises about its authenticity.
When: February 9th, 2021
What: On February 8th, 2021, Ajarn Jet or Dr. Jessada Denduangboripant, posted his thoughts on Facebook about the Melo pearl that was discovered last week in Nakhon Si Thammarat. It’s a story that hit international headlines as the pearl is estimated to be worth between 5 million and 10 million baht.
Ajart Jet said that it’s difficult to confirm if the Melo pearl is real or not due to its finder being recently put into jail for drug charges.
Mr. Sumeth Prasong Phongchai, director of the Gem and Jewelry National Institute or Research and Development, said that the pearl should be submitted for inspection. The fee to inspect the pearl would only be 1,000 baht.
A few details that Ajarn Jet question about this pearl are the hole that was drilled in it, which is unusual for this case; the type of shellfish it was said to have been found in; the fact that it was polished before verifying the pearl being a Melo; and the pattern of the pearl.
The parents of the man who found the pearl say that it is real. The pearl has yet to have been tested by an independent 3rd party.

Special Note about Facebook
My personal profile on Facebook was completely nuked — BOOM, just deleted with no warning. This isn’t just a Facebook jail sentence. I was completely banned from the platform.
