1 Million Yaba Tabs Seized in Nonthaburi Bust

Two were arrested in the bust.

The fight against yaba smuggling and distribution in Thailand marches on. The latest battle won? In Nonthaburi, where officers intercepted a major shipment of a drug trafficking network.

Two were arrested in the seizure. Mr. Siva Sriwan, 25 years old and Mr. Supasin Sukson, 23 years old. They’re accused of transporting a category 1 narcotic with intent to distribute.

Three vehicles were also seized in the bust. The raid took place at a home in Nonthaburi after an investigation of drug trafficking by this network.

The yaba was stashed away inside the vehicles waiting to be sold and distributed throughout Nonthaburi. Approximately 998,000 tabs of yaba were found in the back seat area of one of the vehicles.

My take: I’m working on a project now where I calculate a rough estimate of the number of drug busts and the amount of narcotics seized throughout Thailand in a given time period.

I’m not exactly sure the best way to go about it, but part of it will be to document busts like these throughout Thailand by setting up search parameters that pick up any news article with yaba busts — or other narcotics.

Be on the lookout for this project soon.
