Immigration police arrested the Pakistani national.

When: December 28th, 2020
Where: Bangkok
Perpetrators: Mr. Muhammad, 53
Victims: Pakistani restaurant owner, Asif
What: Immigration police arrested Mr. Muhammad, 53, a Pakistani national, on a warrant with extortion charges. Authorities said that Mr. Muhammad went to Asif’s restaurant and threatened to assault him, and he then punched Asif several times. Mr. Muhammad said that if Asif did not bring 1 million baht within 3 days then he will attack again and destroy the restaurant.
The victim went to report the assault and extortion attempt at the Bang Rak police station. An arrest warrant was issued shortly after and Mr. Muhammad was detained. The investigation is ongoing.
Of special note, this case was reported both in Thai media and the Immigration Police website.
